AI Domain Research
As you may have noticed from my last few newsletters, I’ve been investing in way more domain names than I ever have before (I started buying domains 20+ years ago).
With the explosion of new tech startups coming onto the market thanks to AI, I think branding and positioning with a great domain will be more critical than ever.
Take this example:
Two AI productivity startups launch with nearly identical features — smart task management, AI meeting summaries, and sleek mobile apps.
One is called Focus.ai
And the other? NextGenFocusApp.com
Which one do you think people are more likely to trust, remember, and share?
My strategy is to focus on quality .com’s and .ai’s, while also securing great one word names on extensions these startups may gravitate too if they don’t have the budget for a good .com or .ai straight away.
The average price of a .ai premium domain sold in 2022 was $1,224. The average price of a .ai domain over the past 12 months is $3,270
What TLD is next? I’m not sure. But I do think this presents an amazing opportunity one should not ignore (imagine registering 50-100 great .ai domains a few years ago).
I’ve been learning heaps of tricks on how to find great one word domains using AI, along with learning how to navigate expiring domains and domain auctions. And the cool thing is - anyone with time and grit can do it.
I’m now putting together a small private community to help each other succeed - just as I have done with other projects I’ve gone all-in on over the past 12-years. I know first hand how a small private community filled with like-minded people can accelerate everyone else’s growth.
It’s called AI Domain Research. Along with the community, there’s also a 55min video where I walk you through the different tools I use, and all the lessons I learned analyzing 48,025 premium domains that were sold over the past 3 months.
Stay well,
Chris
P.S - I just noticed Focus.ai is up for sale for $400k ;)
