Job boards & .dev domains

This month, I want to share 2 business opportunities I think should be on everyone’s radar right now:

Job Boards

I was recently talking to a friend about online industries AI won’t disrupt and we both agreed there will still be a need for private communities helping each other, and services that match people together.

One of the obvious categories is job boards that help companies find talent.

Not only are niche job boards super lean to run once they are setup, they can be highly profitable:

• CloudDevs - $100k/m

• JapanDev - $60k/m

• RemoteOK - $42k/m

Through keyword research, I’ve discovered many industries with high-volume, low-competition niche job board opportunities that anyone could tap into:

• “warehouse jobs” - 73k search per month, 0 KD

• “data entry remote jobs” - 100k searches per month, 0 KD

• “medical courier jobs” - 43k searches per month, 0 KD

• “dog walking jobs” - 12k searches per month, 0 KD

This is why I decided that the second tutorial at my AI coding school was going to cover a step-by-step guide on how you can build a job board with Stripe payments, and setup a dashboard clients can use to upgrade/edit their jobs, in just a day.

.dev domains

Anyone else bullish on .dev domains right now?

With so many new software/AI startups coming to market this year, I have a feeling this TLD could see a rise in popularity. And to my surprise, there’s still a lot of gems out there to be found.

Here’s a few startups already using .dev domains:

• Lovable .dev - recently raised $27M

• v0 .dev - one of the largest AI coding agents

• a0 .dev - backed by Y Combinator

They are also cheap at just $2 each, instead of .ai’s costing $138 (having to buy 2 year minimum each time). Here’s a few I picked up earlier: 

• Fyx .dev

• Wavo .dev

• Rejoin .dev
